LA SOUPÉE
Diagonale presents La Soupée, a micro-sponsorship project conceived as a direct fundraising and mediation tool where diners (participants) are invited to choose a project among three artistic proposals presented at the beginning of the dinner event. La Soupée is based on a simple formula: 3-course meal + 30 participants + 3 artists = 1 micro-funded project La Soupée is a dinner event open to 30 guests for a fixed price ($50) distributed between the cost of the meal ($20), and the co-production of an art project ($30). The dinner event is in Diagonale’s gallery. During this event, selected artists present their project to the dinner guests who vote for the project they would like to support and see co-produced. All profits from the event will be donated to the project that receives majority support, making each participant a micro-patron. In addition to funding a new art project, La Soupée offers a convivial context in which to share ideas and meet people. It is also an opportunity to support worthy initiatives, a time to talk about art and a space to network with peers. Because the participants have to be impartial, the name of the artists will be revealed only at the time of La Soupée. Tickets will not be sold the day of the event! Mérida is the sole creator and chef for these pop up dinners and is a published author in that subject. VSS re-imagines vegan cuisine with unexpected ingredients and flavours in a visually stunning presentation. Passionate about food, they spend as much time in the kitchen as they do in the studio. It is under the name Le Kiosque that they decided to unite and share their culinary creations. They favor an healthy and tasty cooking, that highlights local and seasonal products, organic as much as possible. Curious and always willing to experiment, they can prepare gluten free, vegetarian or vegan meals as well as hearty meat dishes. Influenced by Mexican, East-European and Asian cuisine, they like to share their recipes with friends and have them discover new flavors.
